Dear Supporting Families Community of Practice,

I hope everyone has been enjoying the fall season here in the District! We are looking forward to our next Supporting Families Community of Practice meeting and hope you will join us! At this meeting we will discuss several initiatives in DC that aim to improve coordination of social services, promote inclusion of people with disabilities in the community, identify needs of people with developmental disabilities, and support people with intellectual disabilities and their families to have control over the decisions that affect their lives. Specifically, this will include the No Wrong Door Initiative, DC’s Olmstead Plan, the Developmental Disabilities Council 5-year State Plan, and the Citizens with Intellectual Disabilities Civil Rights Restoration Act of 2015.
