Strengthening Families and Communities

The 2nd annual Purple Wave Festival is a block party for all ages to celebrate healthy lifestyles,
the positive impact of mental health and substance abuse recovery

Sponsored by the Department of Behavioral Health, this celebratory event is held during national recovery month to promote healthy lifestyles and raise awareness about mental health and substance abuse recovery.

Person-Centered Thinking

Person-centered thinking is a philosophy behind service provision that supports positive control and self-direction of people’s own lives. DDS is working to implement this through training sessions and other agency wide initiatives.
