October is annually designated as National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM). This initiative of the U.S. Department of Labor Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), NDEAM celebrates workers with disabilities and showcases supportive, inclusive employment policies and practices that benefit employers and employees. This year’s theme is Advancing Access and Equity. 

DDS hosts the Employer Recognition Event to acknowledge businesses and other District agencies for partnering with us to help people with disabilities develop the skills and get the experience they need to obtain or advance in employment.
