In 2014, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) made a new rule that more clearly defines what home and community based services (HCBS) mean. States across the nation, including DC, are working to make changes to their service system in order to comply with the new CMS requirements. For people who receive services through a Medicaid waiver, this means you may start seeing changes in your services and we are hosting this community forum to share information about the changes we are making in DC.  You can learn more about the HCBS Settings Rule and what we are doing here in DC at http://dds.dc.gov/page/waiver-amendment-information.
