We are excited to announce the next DC Supporting Families Community of Practice meeting, which we are thrilled to be co-sponsoring with the National Resource Center for Supported Decision-Making! This meeting will offer an opportunity to learn about and discuss important issues related to supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to make decisions throughout the life course. Additionally, we will provide updates on the progress made by our subcommittees since our last meeting on: (1) starting up a DC Parent to Parent chapter; (2) launching an Advocacy Across the Lifespan Guide; and (3) establishing a Family Support Council to advise DC government agencies.
RSVP: Jestina Heroe at [email protected] or (202) 730-1586
As a small thank you for your time, we will be serving lunch and providing stipends for those who qualify. Please feel free to call or email Alison Whyte at [email protected] or 202-870-9640 with any questions you may have or recommendations about others to invite. Please also share this invitation widely, particularly with people with intellectual or developmental disabilities and their family members!
