Washington, DC— The DC Department on Disability Services and the DC Special Education Cooperative are hosting Next Steps Fair, a post-secondary career and job training event for public high charter school juniors and seniors. The event takes place, Thursday, November 2, 9:30 am – 2:30 pm at 250 E Street, SW.
Next Steps targets students with disabilities and is designed to help prepare them for a successful transition from high school to employment and independent living. The morning portion of Next Steps will be filled with presentations by Wells Fargo, the DC-Center for Independent Living, and professionals from various career fields who will share their career path with participants and assist students in identifying their professional interests and career goals. In the afternoon, students will learn about education and training opportunities available in the District that can get them ready for their next phase in life.
